Updated July 21, 2017 Connect a Netflix-ready device to your TV. This device grabs movies from the Internet and streams them to your TV screen. Examples of these devices include Wii, Xbox360, Internet-connected Blu-ray players, Internet-connected HDTVs, Tivo and Apple TV. Set up a router. If you don’t have a router, any simple one will do. The router allows your Netflix-ready device to connect to the Internet. If your router isn’t connected to the Internet, plug an Ethernet cable from your modem to the router. Most Netflix-ready devices can connect to the router wirelessly. Go to the Setup menu once the device is connected to the TV. Tell the device the name of your router and enter the password, if necessary. If the router is new, you’ll be able to find this connection information in the manual. Add movies to your queue. Log into the Netflix site at netflix.com and add instant movies to your queue. Not all films are available for instant viewing; look for the + symbol. The + means an instant version is available. Click the “Instant Queue” tab on your Netflix home screen to see its contents. Click a title in the queue to select it for viewing. Click the “Play” button to play the movie on your TV. The quality of your streaming movie will depend on your Internet connection, so shut down all downloads and anything else connected to the Internet to get the best possible picture. A faster Internet connection will increase the quality of your movie. Resources Tips Writer Bio
