Updated September 15, 2017 Connect the iPod to your computer with the included USB dock cable. By default, iTunes opens automatically. Select the iPod’s name from the iTunes “Devices” source list in the left pane. The sync application loads to the main iTunes window. Click the “Music” tab at the top of the application to configure your music sync settings. Select the check box next to Sync Music at the top of the pane. Then select the check box next to each artist, song, genre or playlist you wish to sync to your iPod. Click another tab at the top of the application to configure other sync settings. For example, click the “Podcasts” tab to select what podcasts in your iTunes library you want to sync to your iPod.
