Windows and other operating systems need to be able to alert users to events and problems. A common way to do this is through audio cue, but in some cases the computer may not have speakers attached, may not have a sound card or may not have the proper drivers installed. To deal with these hurdles, companies include a simple speaker or speaker service that does not require drivers or external amplication in their systems. This is often called the “system speaker” or “beep speaker” because the cues are always beeps. However, there are times when you want to use you laptop with absolutely no sound, such as in a library. For these times, you can disable the system’s internal speaker. Writer Bio
