While there is no program that allows you to rip songs from your CD directly to your iPod Shuffle, you can import the songs using iTunes on your computer and then sync the newly imported tracks to your iPod Shuffle. Unlike other programs that require you to pay for using its services, iTunes is free to use and is the default media player and manager for iPod devices. Other features of the iTunes program include an audio encoder, which provides five different formats for importing music from CDs: MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV.
