Making a Sticky Post

Select a post that you want to be sticky from your WordPress dashboard. The option appears when you create a new post or edit an old post. Look for the Visibility option in the Publish section. This is located on the right side of the post editor page. Click the “Edit” link beside the Visibility option. A drop-down menu opens. Click the “Stick this post to the front page” check box that displays. Sticky posts are available only when you select the Public visibility option. Private or password-protected posts can’t be made sticky. Click “OK,” then click the “Update” button. This post now sticks to the top of your WordPress home page.

Arranging Multiple Sticky Posts

Log in to your WordPress account and open your home page. Locate the post that you want to appear first. Click the “Edit” link beneath the post title. Locate the post’s time stamp at the bottom of the Publish section on the right side of the post editor page. It has a calendar icon followed by the date and time, such as “Published on: Nov 2, 2013 @ 19:04.” Click the “Edit” link beside the time stamp. Change the date to today’s date. If you have published other sticky posts today, change the time to the current time. Click “OK,” then click the “Update” button. Go back to your WordPress home page. The sticky post with the new time stamp appears at the top of the page. Locate the post you want to appear second and, in the post editor, change its time stamp so that it is an hour older than the first post. Repeat this process for each subsequent post. The posts are arranged in reverse chronological order on your home page, according to their time stamps. Writer Bio
