Computer Based Training (CBT) is a behaviorist theorist’s dream come true. As early as 1912, Edward Thorndike was wishing for a book that would display page two after the reader had finished page one. B.F. Skinner’s key principle of giving the learner immediate feedback to reinforce learning was made available in the first CBT, “Plato,” which was created in 1960. CBT began by centering on affordable, quality instructions that allowed the individual to master each step before proceeding to the next. Today CBT has grown to include nonlinear learning and collaborative communities for learners to connect with other learners. Writer Bio
